Any tips for getting paint out of clothes?

I'm so annoyed at daycare.
I get there tonight and they say- oh we had to change her outfit twice.
Im like- oh she spit up? (thats very common with her)
Nope they say- she got paint on it while doing a project.
Now this was a BRAND NEW FREAKIN outfit she just got for Christmas
I'm so upset. Of course it couldn't be on the crappy spare outfits I leave. NO- it's on the cute new outfit I brought her there in!

I get home and there is blue paint everywhere on it.

Now she is only 6 months- her projects are generally done with her foot and fingerpaint. So I am assuming it's pretty water based and washable and non toxic.

You think I can get it out?
Any tips?

It will come out. Its all safe and doesnt ruin the clothes. You may have to was it twice, but it will come out. Put a DROP of dawn dish soap in too. It helped when ds came home looking like the damn hulk.

Thanks Ladies!
It just looked so permanant on there and I just go so pizzed.

I feel like whenever this one teacher watches her she comes home filthy and covered in food, paint, a mess.

Whenver her regular teacher is there she comes home immaculate.

I'll wash it tonight and see how it comes out

Well, as a teacher I can tell you that many washable paints do not come out of clothing, washable does not always mean washable. Shaving cream has been known to help.

Suggestion for the future...do not send your kid to daycare in new clothes. Although I am surprised a 6 mo old ruined them painting, don't be surprised as they get older that outfits will be ruined painting, learning and exploring.
