Any tips for frying on an electric stove?
New to my electric stove. Almost caused a grease fire the other night. What did I do wrong? Any tips for frying on an electric stove appreciated.

When frying we use the tallest pot we can so the splattering stays in the pot and doesn't hit the stove. Even if its only a little oil we still use a pot with tall sides.

Don't put the heat up to high. Try and stay on Medium heat. Also get one of those splatter guards to put on top of the pan

Medium is there for a reason. Always hotter than gas.
Also if your oil is hot and your item you are frying is cold..it will splatter.

Re: Any tips for frying on an electric stove?
Took me a long time, but I've learned to love my flat top cook top (I have an electric GE Profile convection oven with smooth top).
I agree, the key is to keep heat at medium to low. I fry bacon a lot, and there is some spatter that I need to clean, but I keep it medium to low and I also use a spatter screen.
