Any thoughts on Clomid??

Hi Ladies,

I'm new to this site but not new to trying to get pregnant. I've been trying since 9/06. In 6/07 I had a miscarriage. My husband and I are trying again but I've also made an appointment to see a doctor about going on Clomid. Do any of you ladies have any thoughts on if Clomid is good or bad? Thanks,

Re: Any thoughts on Clomid??

There are lots of posts about Clomid on the Infertility board. I did two cycles but it didn't work for me. Clomid can work though and does work for a lot of people. Do you have any diagnosed conditions like PCOS, etc. Do you ovulate every month?

Re: Any thoughts on Clomid??

I took Clomid. I took it because I have had pregnancy losses and my progesterone was always low. It raised my progesterone significantly and I did get pregnant(I never had an issue getting pregnant though) I ended up having an ectopic pregnancy..

As long as you are comfortable with multiples I would try it. You should not take it longer than 6 months

I don't have any conditions but we've been trying for a year. My husband is deploying in a few months and we really want to be pregnant before he leaves which is why I'm considering clomid.

Re: Any thoughts on Clomid??

My dr said it shouldn't be taken for more than 6 months but he told me that if it hasn't worked in the first 3-4 cycles, then the odds are that it won't. This month is my first time trying it and since I went in for my sonogram on day 5 (which I was given my prescription for 50mg of clomid then) I had to also get blood work and another sonogram a week later (which was last friday) and then bloodwork yesterday morning and now bloodwork and a sonogram again this friday... then i'm not sure what after that. Crazy all the trips I'm making - b/c my dr is a little over an hour from where I live!!! Chat Icon I'm hoping that it takes either this month or next month, but we'll see.
