Any one have fibroids during pregnancy?

My dr found two but they are not near the baby.. Anyone else? and were they there before you TTC? What did your Dr tell you about them??

I have tiny ones and they have not presented a problem. I did have large fibroids prior to TTC which was part of my IF. I got them removed prior to IVF. A lot of women have fibroids and not know it. Fibroids will either shrink or grow with Pregnancy. Although controversial, Try staying away from Soy products. Fibroids tend to grow off of estrogen.

My Dr. found 1 this pregnancy (he didn't see it last pregnancy). He didn't make a big deal out of it at all...he said its sooo common. Usually you get them after having a baby so I'm assuming I'll only get more My mom had them and she ended up having a hysterectomy (well, she had hemmorging/bleeding that wouldn't stop but i'm unsure if it was related to the fibroids) so I asked him if I am more prone to needing one of those and he said absolutely not.

I have over 6, one large one. They didn't really pose an issue other than for me, the large one was blocking the canal so I had to have the csection. I have known about them since I was 16. Your dr will just watch them more closely.

I had one when I was TTC and had it removed when I had surgery this past March for endometriosis. When I got pregnant, another one grew and its been monitored. Well, I just came back from my ob and told me that the fibroid is about the size of DD head

She gave me my options - either to try and have a vaginal birth or schedule a c-section. If I try to have a vaginal birth, there's no guarantee that I'll be able to push her out since the fibroid is in the back of my uterus. Even if I did go for vaginal, she wasn't going to let me work that hard pushing. On top of the fibroid I also developed GD & high blood pressure. So after talking with DH, I've opted for a scheduled c-section on January 9th.

I have three - which I've had before getting pg. The largest one was about 5cm before I got pg, at my 12 week scan it grew to nearly 10cm. I just went for my 20 week scan and it's down to 8.5cm. They are all on the outside of the uterus so they don't pose a threat to the baby but my dr. is monitoring their size as well as location.

i have one, golf sized - but far enough away from the baby that it's not a concern (at least that i was told)...

I have one small one but not near the baby or my cervix so the doctor wasn't too concerned.

they found 1 at my 6 week sono, after that I never heard about it again. at the end I asked about it, and they said nothing was there, so I guess it dissappeared

I have one small pea size fibroid near the opening of my cervix. It did not pose any problems when we were TTC and throughout my pregnancy.

If you have specific questions - FM porruss about it. I remember her posting about having them during her first pregnancy - we were on the pregnancy board at the same time - I specifically remember the doctor or nurse telling her that she had the most fibroids that they had ever seen. She had a healthy pregnancy and had a beautiful little girl - and actually, I think she just had her second child a few months (or weeks) ago.

I had two. One on top of cervix which they removed when I gave birth to DD and another on top of my uterus which is still there.

The one on top of my cervix was growing along with DD which it made it impossible for me to have a vaginal birth. However, even though it was growing along with the baby it did not pose any problems neither did I have any discomfort.

I have one and it's not near the baby. My OB said it wouldn't be an issue and would probably shed when I had the baby.

I just found out during my Ultrascreen test that I have 2. I will see my Dr the day after Christmas and see what he has to say. They have not posed any problems in the past so I'm sure they will shrink after the birth and hopefully not be a problem.
