Chat Icon Chat Icon Yes, thank you!

I always feel so out of the loop when everyone talks about what hospital they are delivering at so I thought I would start one of our own!

Re: Any NJ girls here?

basically what happens is friend of family (same woman who delivered at Barns) baby got botulism possibly from the MIL giving the baby honey so she'd take her bottle (she's not from here and didn't know you aren't supposed to give a baby honey) and the baby got botulism- her throat muscles shut down and she stopped eating which is how they knew something was wrong. She was at the hospital for about 2 weeks and she's fine now thank goodness.

Re: Any NJ girls here?

St. Barnabus is a great hospital.

We went to visit a family member in maternity at Overlook recently- they have very nice private rooms.

I'm delivering at Morristown Memorial Hospital, where we live.

Morristown is a really good hospital- 2 of my friends delivered there and I had to go there for my Level 2 and really liked them.

I live in Rockland..but used Valley Hospital in Ridgewood for minor surgery for my DS.

I was so impressed with the hospital. It was beautiful and everyone there went above and beyond.

That's great to hear! I'm going there for an external version procedure tomorrow (to L&D).

Did you have a private room when you delivered? Did you think it was a good choice?

I took the Prenatally Yours classes offered by some of the L&D nurses last month. They were great!

Is your pediatrician in Morristown?? I'm interviewing them now.

Re: Any NJ girls here?

For those who delivered at St. Barnabus, did you go to any of the pregnancy classes ore breastfeeding classes? DH and I are going, starting on 8/2. Any advice?

I did have a private room. I think I paid $200/night. It was so worth it and I plan on doing it again. My pediatrician is in Chatham. Not far for Morristown at all. I LOVE her. Her name is Dr. Jennifer Shaw. She is part of TouchPoint Pediatrics. She was highly recommended to me. If you want more info let me know.
