any advice for a cold?

took DC to the doctor yesterday b/c he have a little cough. turned out he have a cold. thank goodness no fever. poor thing was coughing a bit more today and took only total about 1 hr nap today. we would had a hard time getting him to sleep and would cried every time we put him down. finally he's been down since 9:30 tonight.

think i'm going to call his dr tomorrow if his coughing continues. but i know they can't give him any cough medicine. i feel so bad for him. anyone have any advice to make him more comfortable? Chat Icon

Love and hugs!! That's what my dr said to give. We always have the humidifer on when he's got a bit of a cold. Our dr also said to lift the mattress a little, or have him sleep with his head elevated. One night he slept in the swing. Hope he's better soon! Chat Icon

I agree with Kelly's advice...
also, I like to use Little Noses Baby Rub... I put some on her chest and a little on her pj's near her shoulders...

I also put eucalyptus oil in her humidifier..

Oh, and the nasal aspirator with the saline drops works well too...

When my DD has a cold I put Vicks on her feet when she goes to bed, saline drops in her nose, humidifier and I also run a hot shower and bring her in the room with the steam. It seems to REALLY help!!

Hope he feel better!!! Chat Icon

the humidifer is an amazing thing!! I am using it now and it is making a HUUUUUGE diffrence. i also used the triaminic vapor thing that goes in the room. irt kinda smells funny but my DD have been sleeping so well the past few nights and they both have really really stuffy noses.
