another wedding WWYD
DH's best friend is about to get engaged and planning the wedding for october. He lives in North Carolina and DH will be in the wedding party for sure.
The problem is we just had a baby and LO will only be 6 months old in october. I'm figuring DH will have to go alone but thats upsetting for both of us. Would you choose another option?

DD is 6 months and I think I would be ok at this point leaving her for 2 nights or so. It really depends on your comfort level.

tiny tot is 8months. we just found out dh friend is getting married in oct. in florida he will be in the wedding party.
we will be leaving tiny tot with my il's
we are looking foward to some alone time

One of my best friends is getting married upstate when DS will be 4 months old. We're leaving DS with my parents for 2 nights so we can go to the wedding. I want to be there for my friend, I'm excited to get 2 nights of unbroken sleep, and my parents are ecstatic to have their grandson for an entire weekend. It's a win-win for us.

Personally, I couldn't leave my DC alone that young. (I nursed mine to sleep at that age and they didn't like going to sleep with anyone else). Will you be BF? That makes it more difficult... you will have to save up enough milk to leave for him, and then pump while you are away.

Do you have family to watch DC? That's what I would do - it's nice to get time away.
Or, I know many people have brought their DCs with them and used a babysitter recommended by those in the area.

At 6 months, I wasn't ready to leave my DC for overnight or a weekend.
It's personal.
I still don't leave them.
We have been lucky in that we are some of the last of our friends to have kids, so all events we go to (weddings included) have been kid friendly. Our kids are VERY well mannered in formal settings.

We have a wedding to go to in June when DD will be 6 mo old. We RSVPd as if we were bringing her, but we are reconsidering. The thought of driving 6 hrs with her (which could easily turn ito an 8-10hr trip) sounds terrible and we will have to leave the festivities early if she comes along. We are thinking of leaving her with my folks instead. I'm nervous about it, but excited at the prospect of being able to celebrate all night with our friends and getting some alone time.
