Another Water Bill Question
We closed on the house Oct 4th. We are not living there yet and basically only flushed a toilet here and there and my DH watered the lawn once.
At the closing table the Seller called the Water Company and transferred the bill to my name and the balance he had (was around $28) was going to be sent to his new address for payment.
We got a Water Bill already for $45.
Does it sounds like his bill is being tacked onto mine or is this normal?

No, that sounds normal, they charge you a fee to initiate your service.

Re: Another Water Bill Question
We were charged about $45 or so in additional to our first water bill for an initial set up fee so it sounds normal. We're in the town of hempstead.

I am in the Town of Huntington, so I am guessing that is what the bill is for as well.
Thanks Ladies

Re: Another Water Bill Question
yeah it is probably the initial fee and also may be based on an estimate.

I agree. Our first bill was a bit higher, due to the service charge for setting up the acct.
