Another School Question - Biting
If your child was bit at school and the school didn't call, would you be annoyed? I assume the teachers didn't see it, but would you be annoyed that they missed it?
I emailed DD's teacher and the school director with a picture of the bite mark a few hours ago and neither wrote me back. I think that annoys me the most, lol.

Another School Question - Biting
I would think a bit that left marks would warrant a heads up.
As for missing it - how could they have caught it if DD didn't say anything? Do teachers inspect kids (not being snarky, I don't have a school aged child)? If they didn't see it how would they know?
A few hours wouldn't bother me, but if days pass that would aggravate me.

Thanks. The teacher wrote me back and said DD didn't say anything. I guess they can't see everything that goes on.

Re: Another School Question - Biting
when I worked in DC, we did miss some stuff. There was 2-3 teachers but when you are involved with the whole class sometimes it's hard to see. I believe we did always call for a bite mark, not for regular bumps and bruises unless they were bad. Sometimes kids don't cry or tell when it happens. Also somestimes things happen in centers and you can't see all that goes on.
Just make sure dd knows to tell (if old enough). Biting is such an awful phase but if it happens more that child should be shadowed.

It has happened before (same kid, but she is DD's friend since birth) and the school called.
