Re: another question...

When I got my cycles back after having DD, I went right back into a 28-29 day cycle. BUT- I wasn't Oing until CD20 (confirmed through temping)- which meant I had a very short luteal phase.

I had NO CLUE what that was either hon. But i did learn that mine was short too - last month was CRAZY short. It's fixable though....with B6 vitamins. I'm now taking my prenatal at night & then after lunch: 1 Balanced B-100 Complex & 1 B-6 vitamin.

Not only will it lengthen my LP - but also makes your pee LOVELY colors!

Re: another question...

Honestly- as much of a pain many people think it is- I would really recommend charting your temps. It's the only way you can confirm O- and it really gives wonderful insight as to what your body is doing.

Had I NOT been temping, I would have never realized my luteal phase was way too short to sustain a pregnancy without some help (I used progesterone). A healthy luteal phase should be at least 10 days or more (10 days is still a little short). Before my DD, my LP was 14 days, and I would always O on CD13/14.

I want to add: for some months, I would get a +OPK, but not O for a few extra days (so I had delayed ovulation). I know my body was out of wack due to previous birth and breastfeeding, so my hormones were likely off.

I totally understand your frustrations. I got pg with DD my first month trying, but #2 took more time. Each month was more painful than the next- especially considering how quickly it had happend the first time.

LP is the time between O and the first day of AF (of your next cycle). average range is 10-14 days.

yes - the balanced b-100 complex (i got them both at drugstore.com) has 100 mg of b6 and extra folic acid and other good stuff - which is why i went with that one. the b-6 one has 100mg of b6 as well.

my gurus on here suggested at least 200 mg of b6 - but you can't find a pill with that... I figure i'll start at the lowest dose and if that doesn't lenghten it enough - i'll increase it next month.

make a point of tracking once you get your positive OPK..how many days it is until your next AF (if it comes...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon ).

This will tell you if your LP is short!
