Another question

Sorry to bother you with so many questions, but I'm preparing for my first IUI and I need some more answers! Chat Icon

DH still hasn't had a SA done (Don't ask!). I made an appointment for Saturday morning for hiim to drop it off. I am going in on Saturday (CD12)for a sono and blood work to see how I'm progressing on the clomid and if I'm ready to ovulate and take my trigger shot. If DH drops his sample off Saturday and IF I am O sooner than later, we'll have an IUI shortly after. I am reading online that DH should wait 72 hours before providing another sample. I'm not sure it will be that large of a time gap if he provides a SA sample on Saturday and another for an IUI shortly after. I don't know what to do Chat Icon Would they even consider doing an IUI without a SA this cycle?

Re: Another question

I think the 72 hour wait is only if you have sperm issues... but you wouldnt know that yet without the SA. I would just keep the appointment... I know people who have had back to back IUIs and the counts have gone way up from one day to the next.

Re: Another question

Don't worry too much about the time span between the SA and IUI. Men with normal SA's don't have problems with having to wait for counts to build up. My RE recommends 48 hours of abstinence before the IUI.

Re: Another question

I wouldn't worry about it. I agree with AP - I think that's only for couples with MF issues.

Good Luck!
