Another OBGYN ? - Three Village
Hi ladies,
Anyone use them? What is your experience and how many doctors are there and male vs female? Also, when do they let you go in for your first appt.

i don't use them, i actually use Stonybrook OBGYN, but three village cross covers and vice versa i believe. I know people who go to three village and love the docs there. I work at Stonybrook hospital as a nurse, and have always heard good things about Davenport (who actually sits on the OBgyn board i believe) and spicer. Davenport has been around forever. I also hear Shoenfeld is very good.

i love them...been going there forever...receptionists and nurses all very nice...they always get back to you when you call...
... The women there are Dr. Davenport (one of the best in NY), Dr. Kaelber, and Dr. Spicer (but she doesn't do OBGYN patients) and the men are Dr. Schoenfeld and Dr. Droesch and a new one, Dr. Berman....
...You first OB appt will be with Karen , or with Loren Lyons. Loren is in the Patchogue office.
The E Setauket office has a nice new sonogram machine, I hear.

I go here. My primary Dr. is Dr. Schoenfeld who I love. I'm going on Oct. 11th for my first OB appointment this pregnancy, and I'll be seeing Dr. Berman.
I went on their website to read up on him and they haven't added him yet.
Anyone know anything about him?
Is the new sonogram machine 3D???

I go here .. i just switched to this practice at 24 weeks. I really like the Dr's so far. I got a little annoyed with their differences of opinions but then again I haven't seen the same Dr. twice yet. I saw Dr. Berman at my last visit and i loved him.. so far my favorite! The practice is so different than the one i switched from. I feel like the Dr's never try to rush you out and you never have to wait long. I am really happy I switched

Thanks for all your responses! I booked my first appt but they won't see me until I'm 8 weeks which I expected. The receptionist did share that they want you to see all the doctors as an OB patient and I understand it is b/c you never know who will deliver your baby. I asked if I could please start off with a woman since this is what I am used to and she allowed me to do so. I am hoping I can continue to choose as I go along w/o them giving me a hard time. I know that I will eventually get over the man vs woman thing but being pg in general is a nerve wracking thing so I at least want to feel comfy during my first few appts.
What should I expect at this 1st appt?? I am meeting with a Lauren I believe.

Loren Lyons? I guess you're going to the patchogue office, right? it's much smaller and quieter there. Loren Lyons is pretty awesome. She's not a doc, but she will ask you a ton of questions about your medical history and such...first visit is usually pretty long. They will usually do an exam.
