Another dentist question
Hi Girls
I know that this question has been asked a million times.....but i notice that people are 50/50 on this......
I def. need either a major cavity filled or root canal (hoping it's not!) tomorrow. I'm almost 14 weeks and i know that we cannot use novacaine with epinephrin but what is the deal with the x-rays???
My dentist asked for just one x-ray of the area to make sure there is no infection etc. Dr. Hanauer said to double vest with the x-ray and that one would be okay
Ive looked up other posts for the same topic and get mixed thoughts.
Help??? What would/have you done?
TIA

Re: Another dentist question
IMHO ... I'd be more worried about infection from the tooth spreading to the baby than a few trace rays that get through 2 layers of lead vest.

Re: Another dentist question
Had a major filling done just into my 2nd trimester. I had to get a note from my OB to have the work done. They put an extra lead jacket on. Had 3 x rays taken. The nummies they use isn't as strong, but it helped. It all depends on where the tooth is and how much work is needed. I just had 2 more cavities filled and it was painfree this time. It is definitely better to get it taken care of because an infection can spread will quickly...
