Another Christmas dress question - hand me downs
I save all the girls' holiday dresses with the intent of reusing them, but I always end up buying new, matching dresses.
This year, one my favorite past Christmas styles is the correct size for my younger two girls. It's mostly red, so I could probably coordinate with another dress for my oldest. Or, I could buy my oldest the same style on Amazon...
Would you reuse the dress? I'm not sure anyone else would even remember....

Nobody will remember, trust me. I don't even remember what my OWN DD wore a few years back, much less anyone else's
Definitely reuse

If you really love the dresses I would reuse and get the oldest something to coordinate.

I think 99% of the people will not remember that your DC wore it before.

Another Christmas dress question - hand me downs
I would probably get something different for the Christmas cards and then let them wear the hand me downs for Christmas eve or Christmas day. I always have a few dresses for different events so I would reuse but just not for the card.

Ok, I ordered the larger size for DD1. I'm going to see if DH remembers :) I don't think I'll use it for cards, but I might. I already have a different dress we bought for the santa experience.

I love reusing dresses! We love looking at kids at the same age in same outfit... shows their differences and similarities.

This! I think it's sweet, even though you're the only one who will notice unless you put them in side by side comparison.

It’s exactly true. Used the same Halloween costume for my girls. My older has no memory of it... but loves seeing her picture next to the youngest’s picture. No one else besides me remembered at all (and it was a costume).

I don't personally see why not. Like I don't at all get why you wouldn't. I have and will do so with my boys who are three years apart.

Another Christmas dress question - hand me downs
I wouldn't but that's because I wore my sisters hand me downs. One thing for everyday clothes but if financially you can afford it I would get new.

Agree. If anyone seriously thinks people are going to remember what your kid wore on Christmas 3 years ago or even last year or what your card looked like year to year, you are mistaken. Just like your wedding, nobody cares as much about your Christmas card as you do.
And this is from someone who obsesses over the card layout and design. Like I spend days and weeks tweaking the damn thing....but even I know that nobody else will notice or care! I just do it because i'm psycho

LOL, I do too, but, I usually order photo card ornaments, and I know my family puts those on the tree each year.

Re: Another Christmas dress question - hand me downs
I personally wouldn’t reuse, but Christmas photos and Christmas Eve dressing up is a big deal in our family. Maybe I’d do it when they are older, but not when they are little. We still talk about each Christmas photo and dress from when I was younger. But we Italians are a little crazy with this sort of thing. My dd2 will re-wear a dress for Christmas Day (slightly more relaxed).

Re: Another Christmas dress question - hand me downs
I have 2 boys and a girl. I always pass down my older boys clothes to my younger DS and he wears whatever we have for him. I think about getting something new for him each year but why? I know he is wearing what my older DS wore, possibly the same exact outfit but I don't think it matters. It saves me money!!! My daughter and my older DS do get something new.
