Anemic
Hi Ladies 
I hope this finds you all in good health.
I was told by my OB that I am anemic and must start taking an addional iron supplement on top of my prenatals. Has anyone else had this issue? I am nervous to take anything so additional iron on top of the 30mg I already take is freaking me out! HELP!!

I am... I was put on an iron suppliment immediately after my first blood test... Was told my numbers are good for a 3rd tri woman but not the best for 1st  I just picked up any iron supp from walmart and as of now, am only required to take 1 pill a day... It will prob become more as the preg progresses... Its no big deal really... aside from it tasting like crap

i take it...they didnt find i was anemic til end of 2nd tri, which explains why I was USELESS the whole 2nd tri, i had no energy, was SOOOO TIRED!!
they put me on an OTC pill, an extra 65mg, but my levels were still low, so the past few weeks I've been on a 150mg prescription pill...
I haven't been checked again since but I don't think I could do much else other than that...
like PP said, besides the horrible taste, it's not too bad...(I didn't get constipated like everyone said I would)

I have a mild case of anemia which makes me very weak. I take one iron pill a day with the prenatal and I have to say that I feel much better. The iron pill has become like a drug for me that I'm addicted to. If I don't take it one day, I feel awful with fatigue and weakness. I take a prescription pill called bifera.

yes, AND a DHA pill... so 3 as of right now... pop em in and down the hatch!  I dont get any side effects from the pills... I just make sure I have something in my tummy around the time i take em for them to work off of

I was anemic before getting PG.
I took pill and prenatal. Did not work and had to get iron infusions. But I also went through that before getting PG.
