I've been on a train in Tokyo, Japan, during the morning rush.
there are workers in the stations with long wooden boards and the actually PUSH you into the train.
the first time you're like WT EFF???? but you kinda get used to it.
they also don't allow ANYONE to side during rush hour, it's all standing room only.
and it's STILL not as bad as the 2/3 in the morning. trust me.

I've been on the 2/3 in the morning, I actually think the E is worst.. but still, not one is putting all their weight behind me and shoving me into the car..lol
I get annoyed when some chick's bag is nudging me in the back as I get onto the LIRR... I would have serious issues if I lived in Japan...

it also depends on what train lines you take. the Shinkansen (sp) was NOTHING like this.
the Tokyo commuter line is where I experienced it.

I was there last year and the commuter line is still this bad. It does depend what line you take and what time of day... but this really does still happen.
