Amazon Kindle vs Fire?
My mom told me she would like an Amazon Kindle for Christmas. She just wants to read books on it.
It looks like the Amazon Fire is the same price as the Kindle and the Fire is a tablet with book reading capabilities. Am I missing something? Is there any reaon why I should get the Kindle when the Fire can do more?
Can someone explain the differences between the two?

I have both.
The fire is like an iPad, but an android version.
The kindle is used only for reading. I'm a huge reader and hate reading on a tablet - the glare is too much.
The kindle is made for reading. You can even read in bright daylight. It's easy on the eyes. I never read on anything else.
If she just wants it for reading, get her the regular kindle.

I agree with the PP. I have a kindle and it is a good size and without the glare I can read in the sun without any problems. The one that I have now, has an adjustable light to the dark (something I was missing from the first kindle I had and broke).
If I had a fire, I would get distracted with other apps.

I hate reading on a tablet - too much glare. The kindle is much better for reading.

I'm a huge reader and I live on my Kindle Voyage ereader It's awesome, so much better than tablets for reading. Hands down.

Kindle paperwhite is my preference. Theres no glare, so much better for your eyes.

I will only use a paper white device for reading. I love my paperwhite kindle. Reading on anything else electronic would give me a headache ans I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep after.
