Amazon - multiple item pricing
A few times when I've been ordering things from Amazon, I notice they will offer multiples of the item, but the price for 2 is more than double the price of one item - which makes zero sense. Last week I was ordering something that was around $23 and I could get 2 for the bargain prince of $132!!!. I have seen other items with such an extreme difference but also items with less of a difference, but still more for 2 than if you just ordered 1 item twice - today I was ordering something that was $16.29 and two were offered for $37.99. Has anyone else noticed this?

Re: Amazon - multiple item pricing
Yes I have but my assumption is they are running low on the 2 pack items and when they run low they price seems to go up

Re: Amazon - multiple item pricing
Sometimes it's just the way someone programmed the sale or pricing.
It's very possible that someone entered the sale price for the single item, but the multiple item entry is actually a separate line item for some reason, and doesn't reflect the correct multiple of the single price item.

Re: Amazon - multiple item pricing
There are computer models that often set the prices. A lot of them are startup companies and so their models are wonky. But, it also could be actual prices since the model will see a single and a double of the same product as apples and oranges. It will compare the single against the selling prices of other single items; and the double ONLY against other doubles. So if there is no price competition for the doubles, the model will raise the price in order to try to get more money. This is where the human has to come in and fix it, but they often don't because there are just so many items each seller has in inventory.
Hope this makes sense!
