Am I The Only One Getting My DD's Pants Hemmed?
Chloe is a big girl, almost two and 32 lbs. She is on the taller side but due to weight needs a 3 T, sometimes 4 T and they are too long. I just brought 6 pairs of pants in (from the Gap) and I have to pay $10.00 a pair to get them hemmed:) Its almost as much as the pants!

I'm seriously contemplating buying a sewing machine and learning how to do this myself. If I do it, I'm going to practice on his pajama bottoms first, b/c if I screw them up, no one will know!

Chels is tall and we're buying a lot of 3T but thankfully the length is working for her..That's so annoying with the cost of hemming them!

I'm cheap, we just roll the pants up if they are too long.

What about using those hemming kits they have where you placed a type of tape on the pants and "hem" them that way. I think that you might be able to undo it which would work if she gets taller and the pants need to be longer. I think i read about this somewhere but never tried it.

Why not try the no sew stuff that you iron on?
I used to use that when I worked and needed a quick fix.
I am going to be honest there is no way I could justify paying to hem DS's clothes. I would just roll them.

my DD is 11.5 years old and I am getting her pants hemmed because she is "petite" and they are about 2-3 inches to long on her !!
I feel your pain when it comes to the extra $ to get them hemmed !

I use no-sew heat bond tape on everything! I would get the lighter hold tape if you attempt it though so you could lower them easier. Whenever I had that problem, I would roll the pants over at the waist once. It doesnt work for all pants but the idea of the getting them hemmed def sounds expensive.
