Am I starting a bad habit?
Gavin is 12 weeks & 4 days. He sleeps in the bassinet at night.
When he wakes up around 5:30 am or so, I bring him into bed with Phil and I and nurse him. Phil usually gets up because he goes to work or on weekends goes bike riding or whatever.
I keep Gavin in bed with me, I nurse him, we snooze together, I will read a bit. We usually don't get out of bed until 8 am. I love this time with him, but worried that I am starting a bad habit.

I used to do that with DS and we had no problems. I wish I could do the same now with DD, but now that I have 2 kids there's no lounging around anymore since DS is up by 7ish.

My kids still come in my bed in the wee hours of the morning. If it makes you and your kids happy, I don't see an issue with it, regardless of the time length of time

I don't see a problem with it at all. We used to do something like that at that age, and he outgrew it all by himself.

I think it's fine - esp since he is sleeping the majority of the night in the bassinett. I recently stopped bringing Ryan in (the last week or so) just b/c I wanted him to start really understand his crib is his bed since he wasn't haven't the easiest time adjusting from swing/my bed to crib. I do miss him (but he's sleeping through the night in his crib  )
Enjoy it - it's your special time with him!

I actually do this with dd who is now 15 months old.... it started as a 6am half hour cuddle and how it starts at 5am..... I am really hoping that it doesnt get much earlier then this!

I did the same thing. Even when DS was moved to his crib, I'd bring him in bed for his AM bottle and when he was done, we'd take a nap together.
I miss those days.
We bring him in bed now on the weekends and get kicked, punched, hit..LOL.Ooh and crawled on. He wants to just go downstairs and play.

I bring DD into bed with me if she wakes up after 5:30, giver a bottle and we will fall back asleep. I don't think at 12 weeks this will become a habit. I think as long as they sleep most of the night in the crib or bassinet you are fine

Nope, I did this until about 6 weeks ago when dd would not go back to sleep with me and she wanted to roll off the bed  So I may still nurse her laying down (it's the only way she snuggles with me) but then we get up for the day. You are not starting a bad habit. Enjoy it!
