Am I lucky?
or is this cause for concern?
DS is 14 days old today. When we go to sleep for the night, he usually goes down roughly about the same time and sleeps 7+ hours. And b/c I am still in the nervous nelly new mom phase, I worry that this is bad.
The other night, DH and I went to bed at 8pm, he went down then too and slept til 3:30am when I panicked and woke him and made him eat. Last night we went to sleep around midnight and he is still sleeping now at 7:45am.
I am thinking I am just lucky....but I would love opinions, I just never thought a newborn would sleep this long at night.

Is he making a lot of wet diapers? Was his weight a concern? If these are ok then I would concern yourself one lucky mommy!

Well, now you have jinxed it.
I wouldn't mention it again, the kid will never sleep!
Newborns do sleep a heck of a lot, but you are lucky for him to sleep that long. Remember, the only constant with newborns is change!!!

Plenty of wet diapers (and the other too!) and he is small, but had gained weight at his first ped appointment, so they told me to try to feed him arount midnight and then only feed him if he woke up.
And Racheee...you are totally right. DH yells at me when I do that with traffic.

Wow, lucky girl!! If he's doing okay otherwise, eating well, wetting diapers...sounds like you're just one of the lucky few. Maybe give your pediatrician a call just to see what he/she says.

yes, u are lucky, and never wake a sleeping baby (they say)....i never woke my DD to eat! i let her sleep....my reasoning was that if she was hungry, she would wake up!!
