Yes I asked her -- she says that since I told her I wasn't getting the bookcase I planned to get from Fortunoff (didn't like it in person) she thought I wasn't getting ANY bookcase!! Which of course means I don't want any books now.... ???***??

I think she just didn't feel like writing anything - too much work.

She also didn't mention the second store we are registered at -- said it would be "tacky" -- and yet asked people to bring a DOG TOY to donate to NSAL. ???? This isn't a charity event...! She makes everything about herself!

You are not being a brat, but I don't necessarily agree that because it is your shower you get to decide what you want. It's a shame that since she KNEW about it, she didn't do it, but perhaps she had her reasons.

I went to a shower where they did this and honestly, my friend got about 10 copies of the same 4 books, people aren't very creative with this. And when I thought it would be a cute idea for my SIL, she actually said "No, thanks, we'd like to pick our own books out for her"

Maybe when people RSVP she can mention it to them? Then people can still grab a book if they like.

I really wanted to write, "yes Kara you are a brat". But AGAIN..... I can't.

Was the dog toy your idea, or hers??

And I have an idea about some books.

edited, cause I embarrassed at all my grammar and typos that happened pre-coffee

Not a brat at all. But now you can plan a book birthday party!

Dog toy was not my idea at all.

A book party...hmmmmm....

Yeah I know I can't decide what will happen -- I just was looking forward to it. But a lot of my friends know I wanted to do this so maybe I'll get luck, who knows!

OK, then that is a bit odd. Will she be mad at me if I bring a book instead of a dog toy????Chat Icon

What if I bring a book ABOUT a dog? Does that count for both??

You know it's funny, I thought "Isn't she registered at Target too?" but it wasn't mentioned. Chat Icon

Ok, that is a bit bizarre then. And you really can be annoyed since she took the idea you liked (the books) and replaced it with the dog toy idea (odd, especially b/c the toys aren't for YOUR dogChat Icon )

I think your friends will get you books anyway, and I LOOOVVVE to buy books, so I am sure you will enjoy buying them tooChat Icon

I think it is weird that she didn't include all of the places you are registered at - that just helps your guests when shopping - maybe they are closer to a Target - then to the other place you are registered at.
