Some babies just aren't ready to be born My DS was like this during the day. It was very very rough. The RnP saved my nighttime sanity but even that wasn't perfect. It does get better but not fast enough! Also I promise you your baby doesn't hate you or hate that they were born (all thoughts going through my head the first 12 weeks of life)

Funny you say this. The Happiest Baby on the Block DVD refers to the first 3 months of life as the "4th trimester". The Dr on it talks about how babies are really not physically ready to come out into the world after 9 months in the womb, but how they have to because they are getting too big and running out of space in there and about how the womb's environment is starting to degrade after 9 months. He speaks of how their digestive and neurological systems are truly not developed when they are born and that is what leads to the non stop crying, colic. gas and digestive issues etc

All my son does is cry
Today is like he is a completely different baby. Napping nicely, not crying at all. The only thing that I did differently is that I gave him gripe water for his hiccups. Praying for more days like this

Re: All my son does is cry
I went through this with my first daughter (she is now almost 5 years old). She wound up having colic and we changed formulas to Gerber Protect. Do you have a swing that goes side to side? My pediatrician recommended that and it saved our sanity. Also if you have a baby carrier, you can wear your baby. I also went for A LOT of long drives. It helped my daughter to stop crying and sleep and it helped my sanity. Also try going out for walks, even when the weather is chilly. It will get better. I promise!

My son was colic
It's awful and know when nothing works its not you
It's bc nothin works
We tried it all. Baths at 4 am driving around colic cam etc etc. he just cried and some nights I cried with him
Hang in there. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
Yes exactly, same thing happened with mine... he was literally either sleeping, eating, or screaming, that's all he did. He cried constantly! We couldn't bring him anywhere or have visitors much or really enjoy being with him because he was always upset. Finally at 4 months old he started to be able to go more than a few minutes without crying, then longer & longer stretches & by 5 months old he was calm most of the time. Just like that. Nothing we did or didn't do made much difference. Now at 7 months old he really only cries if he's tired, hungry, or teething. Things will get better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: All my son does is cry
I know this is a long shot, but check his toes for hair wrapped around it. This happened to my daughter at 3 months. She was crying and we didn't know what was wrong. I never even heard of anything like this happening before. WE even brought her to the doctor and the dr. didn't notice it. I noticed it finally at night when her toe started turning red.

I just bought this. I pray it helps. Last night he was up screaming from 3am to 6am. I spent most of the night crying right along with him.

I had formula troubles and I have a bunch of half- used containers if you just want to try them out. I use Babys Only Organic formula and it's a life changer.

Re: All my son does is cry
DD had a milk protein allergy. We had gone from regular formula, to a soothe, to nutramigen, then to a GI doctor, who put her on a prescription formula. It was life-changing. Definitely be a little more aggressive with making a formula change to a soothe, then see if the doctor recommends alimentum or nutramigen. My doctors were wonderful in telling me that this wasn't just a waiting game, and their aggression minimized my daughters discomfort (and our anguish).
Oh, and the rock n play really was wonderful! We did dr. Browns but not sure they really helped. It was the formula that was the tru problem. Gripe water and gas drops did not do a whole lot for our little one.

My son was the same way. Gripe water had a much better (and more instant) effect than the drops. But it didn't last very long. I had to stop nursing because he would scream during feedings and seemed so uncomfortable. He did horribly on regular formula. We switched him to Similac Sensitive and Tommee Tippee bottles at the same time and he calmed down so much instantly. Not sure which did the trick, but at 7 months, I refuse to change either of them LOL He is still a difficult baby. Wants me most of the time. He did LOVE the RnP.....he would only sleep in that (not all the time, but it was definitely more successful than anything else) I think they feel more snuggled in that.

ETA: I'm small and while I love baby wearing for outings, I HATE wearing him around the house. He's a big baby an I can barely do anything when he's in front. My arms are not long enough LOL

Ergonomic carriers should not aggravate it. Stay away from the Bjorns and look into Ergo, Boba or something similar. I have 2 slipped discs and wear my 8 month old in the ergo at least an hour a day.

I'm not small at all and baby wearing does not appeal to me, I just don't feel comfortable.
I'm calling the dr office tomorrow and asking if I could switch his formula. It shouldn't hurt to try.

I said above I'm going to call dr tomorrow to see about a formula switch. I ordered the rock n play so I am hoping that it helps.
He let us put him in his bouncy seat today and he didn't. Freak out, just chilled and eventually fell asleep. How he is sleeping through my husbands snoring I have no idea
