okay i have not been, but these are the ones I researched for our honeymoon that were contenders. I based it on reviews on tripadvisor.

Secrets resorts (mexico, jamaica)
Excellence resorts (mexico, DR, jamaica)
couples resorts (jamaica)
the caves (Jamaica. my sister went here and said it was amazing!)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Excellence chain. We've been to the DR location, as well as Playa Mujeres. Playa Mujeres was our absolute favorite. We had a roof-top terrace room, which gave us 2 beds, a shower, and private plunge poool on our rooftop. The service we received was top notch. EPM in Mexico is more modern, whereas EPC in DR has more of a caribbean vibe.

We're going to Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica in 10 days. We picked it because 1) our TA highly recommended it to us and he never steers us wrong; and 2) they have a VERY high percentage of repeat customers. That speaks volumes to me. It has a more rustic feel, but the beach is one of the best in the world. Couples owns 4 resorts in Jamaica and all of them were listed in the top 10. they also include a lot of activities that other all-inclusives dont, like a catamaran cruise, glass bottom boat cruise, trip off the resort to I forget where, etc.

Oh, and I always book with Travel Tom ([email protected]). He's excellent to work with. And he has cancel for ANY reason insurance, which comes in handy for us since we always travel in September.

Read the reviews on TripAdvisor for any resort you're considering. They also have forums so you can ask questions and get more info. If you consider Couples, they have their own message boards on their website, which I have found very helpful in planning our trip. Have fun wherever you go!

My favorite all inclusive so far has been the Royal Hideaway in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. DH and I went there for our honeymoon. It was absolutely amazing!

We had booked through Beach Bum Vacation - Hayley.

Renaissance Hotel & Casino in Aruba. It has a private island which is a 5 minute boat ride from the hotel (the boat picks you up INSIDE the hotel...so cool). The hotel/rooms were beautiful, there were a ton of restaurants to choose from all of which were very, very good. Swim up bar that served the best coconut shrimp! Private little oasis area for couples massage. Indoor mall, flamingos on the beach....it was gorgeous!

ETA: We booked through Liberty Travel in Garden City.

We just had an amazing honeymoon at Secrets Maroma Beach in the Riviera Maya.

Hey Anya....I think you have stayed in Iberostars before...not sure if you have checked out this one - Iberostar Paraíso Lindo in Mexico. Went in March with both boys and it was terrific. Plan to go back in 2 years....not sure if you are travelling with the kids. You can use the properties of three resorts so it is huge. The Maya is really nice too (attached) - we staying in the lindo since it has a lazy river and wave pool which we used tons with the boys so we wanted to be closest to that. We loved it...found it adn researched it online adn booked thru local travel agent. (I think I have pics on facebook -a re you on there?)

DH and I have stayed at the Riu Palace in Cancun and the Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas and LOVED them. They are clean, pleasant staff, good food. We loved it and may try Riu Aruba next year.

We also did Couple Swept Away for our honeymoon and had a great time. Would definitely recommend that as well.
