Alarm systems
Does anyone ave an alarm system and also have a cable phone line (Optimum)?
If so, do you have any problems with it? I mean, the phone line going out and it setting off the alarm?

Re: Alarm systems
When we installed it 2.5 years ago ADT told us we couldnt get the cable phone line and we needed a real one. But recently Cablevision has called and told me that now they can set up the alarm system to it. I think your best bet is to speak to someone at the alarm company you plan on using and see what they recommend. I personally think that the cable goes out way to much in LI and am glad that it is hooked up to the phone line.

Re: Alarm systems
Unfortunately, we already have Cablevision and the alarm system and Cablevision took down the system last night causing the alarm to sound and gave us a heart attack. Neither the alarm company or Cablevision has any solutions other than to install a land line also. I think that is what we are going to do! Thanks.

Re: Alarm systems
I was just having this conversation with a friend who works for Slomins the other day. He said it's hard for them to work with customers who have phone lines thru cablevision. He explained the reason to me, but I forget now. Either way I think we're going to switch to another carrier so we wont have any problems when the alarm system is installed.
