I dont know if you can wear anything but you should bring a birth certificate.

You do not need to bring a birth certificate to get through security. No ID whatsoever is required for children under 18. We fly all the time, and are never asked for it for children. However, if your 7 month old is a lap baby, I would bring the BC to prove the age. Not that there should be a question for a 7 month old, but you never know.

I've always worn one of the kids through security. Never brought a BC. If you DC was closer to 2 and a lap child I would bring it at 7 months there's no need to. GL!!
