Airfare
How do you save money when flying?
I know flying on non-busy days saves a lot on airfare, but are there any tricks or tips you've discovered on flying a family out during the holidays?

Re: Airfare
The only thing I have found is the cheapest flights are the off hours ones. So instead of flying out of NY at a prime time in the morning, if you are willing to fly out at like 5 pm, you get a much better fare. Of course, you shoot a whole day of your vacation doing this- but I did notice a big difference in price that way

Be flexible with dates times and airports. I fly out of Newark all the time using mass transit and its a pleasure!

Re: Airfare
I have noticed that if you fly on Christmas or New Year's eve, it is cheaper. We have never flown on those days but I know prices dip on those days.
We paid double for our plane tickets for holiday break. Supply and demand.
