After the BFP--- what happens next?
Just curious and because I'm such a HUGE planner- what are you supposed to do AFTER the long awaited BFP????
I know usually a Dr's appt for a blood test to confirm but what else does a couple/ woman do after the excitement wears off?

Big thing to do is definetly go to the doctor.... then read up on all the dos and don'ts of pregnancy!

Yup, make a dr's appointment to confirm with a blood test (my reg doc did this) and then first appointment with the obgyn (which I didn't have until almost 9 weeks. In the lonnnng month that I waited, I worried about everything and read up on as much as I could.

My doctor never confirmed with a blood test. I saw the doctor for the first time at about 6-7 weeks. If you weren't taking prenatals before the BFP, you should start taking them. Also, you probably want to start cutting out or limiting items on the foods to avoid list.

after our bfp I called the doc, went in to confirm i was pg- they just did an internal but we couldnt see anything, we just saw the sac.
We go again next tuesday to see the baby and the heartbeat. (i will be 7w4d)
I started prenatals before i got my bfp to get my body adjusted. I also cut back on the caffeine.

LOL, let the fun begin!! For me, i had 3 horrific months of morning sickness but i started to plan how i was going to do the nursery and look forward to all of the fun sonos! Usually you go in for a 6 week and then back every 4 weeks and NT around week 12, depends on your obgyn. They do the maternal screening between 8-12 weeks(all the blood work)-again, really depends on the ob!
For me, i didnt get to enjoy pregnancy the first trimester at all but the second had been so fun, my baby is kicking away and we find out the sex next week. Good Luck

oh my goodness how exciting! You finally talked him into it huh? He will grow up sooner or later!!! But just remember, we really didnt plan much!
I think it works better that way and much easier- when you try to have fun with it!
Good luck! Now all we need to do is get you two to move closer to us!
