AF question
Ladies, need your help. Today is CD 50, no AF in sight. I have never been so late, even though my cycles are around 37 days. I have been cramping for a week now, very annoying. I feel like it will come any time, but it just simply does not start. So I went to my OB today to do internal u/s to see if there are cysts. He did not see any cysts, but did see that my uterus lining is very thick ( around 18 mm), which is usually either in early pregnancy or before period. But it is way too thick though. Now, even though we are TTC'ing, I did not O this month, and I took a preg test like 4 days ago (BFN), so I am not prego. He suggested provera to bring on AF. Do you have any similar experience? What did you dr do to bring on AF? Ugh, so frustrating..

Re: AF question
Do you usually have regular cycles? I have PCOS and for my entire life, I had absent periods. I would MAYBE get it 3x a year... and that was a lot for me. My doctor put me on BCP to regulate my periods so my lining wouldn't get too thick. Once I started TTC, I would take Provera between cycles to bring on AF if my cycles became too long. I would go ahead and take Provera like your doctor prescribed. You do not want your lining to become too thick. GL!!

Re: AF question
Maria31, thanks for answering and congratulations on your pregnancy! It gives me hope that someone with similar issues is pregnant in the end My cycles are regular, but long. But this is the longest it has been Honestly, not to sound stupid, I am afraid of Provera. I am just scared that once I take it and AF shows up, it will never be able to start on its own going forward, and I will forever depend on the drugs not only to bring O, but also AF. I will FM you with more q. Thanks!

Re: AF question
I've been in the same situation as you, and it usually does work itself out. I had to take something to bring on my period after I went off the pill (after 11 years) -- twice, actually. It took a while, but I did start to get my period on its own, albeit irregularly.
For a while, I actually thought I was only Oing every other month -- my cycles were kinda going back and forth between 34 days and 63 days every other month. Some cycles were as long as 85 days. But eventually AF would arrive. Cysts would also come and go.
I'd listen to the doctor if he/she doesn't believe your period is going to start on its own, but also make sure they know you're TTC. When I was going through all that, we weren't TTC yet.
As a side note, this year once we started TTC, the first two months, my cycle was exactly 34 days... the month I conceived, I O'd on day 47 (and totally thought there was no way I could be PG because of my BFN on day 37 and negative BT on day 44). I really feel like you just never know!
Wishing you all the best!!!
