AF finally cooperates and still... (Updated)
I cant schedule my HSG yet.
I needed to have it CD 6-8 and I was going to be away those days. Well after 3 days of torturing me by spotting, she held out and I called to schedule for Monday.
Well, they wont give me an appointment for an HSG because I have asthma. Have you ever heard of such a thing?
Their MD is not in until tomorrow, so I have to wait until then for an answer.
Update: OK Dr. Scholl called and I am going to have another hystosonogram Monday instead.
The radiologist did call me back and said I could schedule the test if I had a letter from my pulmonologist, but I didnt even bother since I hadnt mentioned my shellfish allergy. I am 100% sure that would put them over the line.

Oh Pauline
How bloody annoying. No I have never heard such a thing, what difference does the asthma make? I know they don't like to do it if you have allergy to shellfish, but asthma???????
I'm sorry

I'm sorry if I missed something, but I thought you had said something like the doctors at Cornell said not to bother with another HSG? That since you had one done, nothing is going to change?

nope, your right. But my RE wants me to have it and I cant exactly tell him that someone else said I didnt need it. I have a frozen embryo at NSUH I plan to use before I move onto Cornell.

Okay, I thought I was crazy.
Well, that's horrible. Will you find out tomorrow? I don't even get what asthma has to do with anything, its not like they're giving you anesthesia??

Oh that's right, you explained at breakfast -- he wants to get a closer look at your uterus basically to make sure everything is OK, right? More so than to check your tubes...
How frustrating!!

Re: AF finally cooperates and still...
I'm sorry this is happening to you. You can't seem to catch a break!!
Something in the dye they use has similar properties to shellfish and if you have an allergy to that they can't inject you without risking your repiratory system.

Pauline that is so freaking frustrating! If he wants a good luck at your uterus why not a SHG?

I have done that, its not showing anything, but he wants a "really good look".
I dont think this is going to happen. I have had it before and had no reaction to the dye. BUt now that I have a documented allergy... they didnt even want to touch me when I "only had asthma"

Re: AF finally cooperates and still...
They did the HSG years ago and you had no problems, don't they get that?
Well, if you can't do the HSG maybe that'll mean one less step and you can move on to the frozen embie (since the other practice said your tubes/uterus haven't changed since your last HSG).
Can you mention something to this practice like "you know, I was reading up on the HSG and I read that they really aren't prone to change. Since I've had one before and everything was normal, do I really need to have one again or can we just proceed, being that I'm having such difficulty scheduling one."

Re: AF finally cooperates and still...
The problem is I am afraid to put that frozen embryo back until I have exhausted every possibility.
Since no one knows W T H is wrong I was actually looking forward to getting a good look inside.

Re: AF finally cooperates and still...
I would agree with you on wanting that good look. Also, when I asked Dr. K about my tubes, he said they can change for a variety of reasons. Obviously, this isn't a concern for you, but you still would want them to look at your uterus. Are you sure you are allergic to shellfish - I may have missed that part of the discussion - or is there any way to double check about the shellfish allergy?
Geez....All I know is I wish you could catch a friggin break here - I'm frustrated and it's not even me.
