Advice Needed Regarding Insecure Husband PLEASE
Hi Ladies,
My DH is an amazing hands-on dad to our almost 10 mos old DD. However, he has these major insecurity issues and cannot understand how my DD USUALLY wants "MOMMY" more then daddy. It eats him up so much inside and he gets really moppy and down. I HATE this because my DD totally loves him a lot. I try explaining (as I've heard from a few friends) (and I hope you ladies will agree as well) that babies naturally want their mommies more at this young age, its'a NATURAL INSTINCT!
How do I help my DH deal with his frustration since it causes us to fight A LOT lately because I get made at his stupidity??
Thanks in advance

Re: Advice Needed Regarding Insecure Husband PLEASE
my ds is only 3 months old- he equally smiles for us....
dh is sooo cute he loves his baby time, and with the christening coming up next week he called dibs that he wants to hold him for the ceremony .
Perhaps dh can plan some special outings of just him and baby, so they'll bond more and then maybe she'll start asking for him more.

All babies go through stages of wanting one parent more than another. Try to reassure your husband that soon your DD will only have eyes for him - it goes back and forth. It is completely normal and has nothing to do with how much she loves him or if he has bonded enough with her.
It won't be long before she knows and she'll show affection to one just to tease the other. My neice does this to my sister all the time! She thinks it's hysterical and when my sister pretends to cry she'll come running to her, hug her and say "I love mommy" ...then a few minutes later it starts again

my dd is ALL about me, always has been
Lately, I have been trying to leave DH and DD together without me so she learns that it is okay if mommy is not there all the time, I need a break too

Re: Advice Needed Regarding Insecure Husband PLEASE
DD was like that when she was that young as well. However, tonight is the first time in a month she has let me put her to bed instead of DH, and I'm sure it's only b/c he isn't home. At 19 months my little momma's girl has turned into daddy's little girl 100%.

Exactly. Right now, they usually want the parent who takes care of their needs the most, and that is mainly food and holding. Whichever parent is with them the most is usually their favorite. It happened with both of my DC. I'm the "fun" parent, so now that DC like to play, I have risen substantially in their "who do I like" list. (Although, DS made a list, and apparently I am behind the Black Eyed Peas, but I'm running a close 2nd.... ).
Just remind DH how much he wanted DD to like him when she won't leave him alone while he's trying to watch a sports game on TV in a few years....

Re: Advice Needed Regarding Insecure Husband PLEASE
She was inside of you for 9 months for goodness sakes- OF COURSE her connection to you is going to be stronger. Everything about you is comfort to her.
Once she's older she'll start preferring her father more. My 2 year old goes NUTS when her daddy walks in the room. He's all about fun and play.
