actually one more gate question about stairs
we are moving next week and I gotta get on this...
Do i need a gate at the top and bottom of stairs?
The house is basically one level, but the family room/playroom is downstairs.

Yes, we still have both and DC's are over 3.
Top... to prevent them from trying to get down the stairs in the middle of the night, once they are in a bed.
Bottom- you can put it on the bottom stairs or give her a couple to practice.
I've always had to be extra vigilant with twins... now one wants to go up while one wants to go down... my stairs are not carpeted I'm always holding their hand... DS came very close to flying down the stairs a few months ago

We have them at the top...bc her play area is blocked off so there is now way of her getting to the stairs unless I take here there...the top bc if she decides to get out of her crib and somehow manage to get out of her room....

We always had them only at the top. My kids never seemed interested in the stairs and I think it was because I didn't have a gate on the bottom.
