haha i remmeber posting this...honestly they just sleep and u sleep when u can...they really dont start playing till 9 weeks or more...so for now...relax and enjoy

If you want to, you can get started reading to them, showing them brightly colored toys, putting Baby Einstein on TV, showing their their mobile, playing the music on their swing and other toys, etc. My pediatrician said that the only thing that is super important is tummy time.

I'm feeling the same way.. DD is 2 weeks old and i'm kind of like well what else can I do with her besides change her, feed her and rock her back to sleep. When she's awake I like to walk her around the house and talk to her but other then that there's not much activity yet.

What is Tummy Time???

I read to him

Gave him tummy time on his boppy pillow since he hated it on the floor

put him under his activity mat

He was born in the spring so I was able to take him to the park and put him under a tree to stare up at the leaves, which he loved!
ETA - tummy time is literally putting them on their tummies to help them develop their muscles since they are always on their backs...

Tummy time is when you put dc on their bellies to strengthen their neck upper bodies. Babies usually hate it at first, but stick with it. Sleep deprivation has really messed up my memory but I think around that time I had people come over to visit. It was also a bit easier for me 'cause it was around the holidays. The weather should be getting nicer, so get out and take some walks!

DS is 4 weeks old and I try to show him some toys, rattle some rattles and walk around with him. They really don't do much until they are maybe two months old.

I cannot put DD on the floor right now because it is not carpeted so I'll have to wait another week till we move upstairs for the carpet

I have carpet, but if you have something like a cushioned pad u can lay them down with no problem.

I use the mat that came with her 3 step exersaucer... it's cushioned in the middle!
