Re: acid reflux - how did you know?
DD projectile vomits multiple times a day, and spits up constantly. We go through 4-5 outfits a day.

Re: acid reflux - how did you know?
DD would cry uncontrollably after eating and arch her whole body back and after eating would be making eating sounds and our doctor said she could be reeating her spit up. our ped gave us a prescription for zantac and said to try it for a week and if she improves then we know its reflux if it doesnt then she is just unhappy and it would get better in a couple of weeks on its own. Well one week on Zantac and it was a different baby so that's how we knew...its mild because she is on the lowest dose and it hasnt had to be increased even though she's gained weight...we now at 16 weeks use it as needed which is about once a day or so...

Re: acid reflux - how did you know?
It was the constant spit up after feeding that looks like curdled milk, clear liquid that she spits up HOURS after feeding, vomiting, congestion, gagging and choking during feeding and arching back/crying during feeding. Feeding her is like a battle every meal! I think that's why her legs are sooo strong now because she keeps on kicking and trying to stand up to get away from the bottle while on my lap!

Re: acid reflux - how did you know?
He vomited multiple times and choked in the hospital and was diagnosed there. Since then, he arches his back when feeding, screams, gurgles, chokes, body goes rigid, spits up, projectile vomits, cries bloody murder when feeding, refuses to eat, will eat 1 oz every single hour around the clock, would not sleep, had formula coming out of his nose and would choke on it go rigid and freak out, snaps his head to the right when feeding.

Re: acid reflux - how did you know?
A lot of the same--arched his back and stiffened his body while screaming bloody murder after a feeding. Cried a bit while feeding in the early weeks. Spits up a lot even hours after a feeding, comes out his nose at times. Cries after spitting up or makes a face.

Re: acid reflux - how did you know?
My DS didnt have all the common symptoms. He was BF at the time and rarely spit up. Here was what clued me in and I was lucky to have a friend whose DC is only a few weeks older than my DS so I was able to bounce ideas off her... - after eating at night when I was trying to put him to sleep he would scream so badly, turning red obviously in pain - after laying down he would sound very congested, like he had a head cold - He hated laying on his back, would only sleep on his side, would wake instantly if he was on his back - then finally he started projectile vomiting 1x a day when laying down on the changing table.

Re: acid reflux - how did you know?
hmmm see my son USED to arch his back while feeding but not anymore...and he did it moreso when the bottle wasn't warmed. he doesn't spit up that often unless he doesn't burp and i put him to lay down.
He does sound congested often, though & has a rough time laying on his back. if he does lay on his back it will be for maybe 10 mins bc he's exhausted...then he startles and wakes up screaming. he's thrown up only once since he was born 8 weeks ago. but he cries so often. maybe it's just colic? he has gotten a bit better as of yesterday. but it's still tough and it seems he always wants to be held
