Accupuncture
Hello ladies, it's been a while since I've posted on here, but I have a question. Has anyone tried acupuncture to help with fertility? What should I expect? Where will they put the needles? Did it work for anyone?

Re: Accupuncture
I've gotten pregnant multiple times with IVF combined with acupuncture. He puts needles in my feet, legs, wrists, belly, and ears. Let me know if you would like a rec, I LOVE my acupuncturist.

Re: Accupuncture
I am going for acupuncture tomorrow, 6DPO!!! It's the first time I'm doing it while TTC (I've done it before but while in non-TTC mode, and it is SUPER relaxing and I'm usually deathly afraid of needles lol). I read the best times to do it is within a day before OR after ovulation (or the day of), OR 6-10 DPO to coincide with implantation potentially occurring. I just happened to make an appointment for tomorrow and it works out since it *could* be when implantation happens IF we were successful this month I recommend Lighthouse Wellness in East Meadow if you're looking for a place (OR Susan Wallmeyer in the city, she supposedly specializes with fertility....I switched to Lighthouse since they're cheaper! lol). Good luck if you try it!

Re: Accupuncture
Just to add, when I went for regular acupuncture (not in TTC mode), they put needles in my shoulders, arms, hands, stomach, feet and legs. They are like HAIR thin though, you barely feel it, HTH!

Re: Accupuncture
I do acupuncture for fertility. I see my acupuncturist at least weekly. Depending on where I am in my cycle depends on where they stick the needles. Not everyone's fertility points will be the same. It depends on where the acupuncturist thinks you are lacking. An acupuncturist often look for deficiencies or excess in certain organs and will adjust your treatment accordingly. In your initial appointment you should review with your accupuncturist what symptoms you have and they will diagnosis you and treat you based on your symptoms. Most acupuncturists would probably put points in your belly before ovulation to promote ovulation. However if you ovulate earlier than normal, chances are these points would not be used. I have long cycles so before ovulation the points used are in my feet, shins, belly, hands, and ears. After ovulation different points are used in my belly to increase chances of implantation. During my period, no belly points are used. After ovulation and during my period my acupuncturist sometimes also puts points in my head. When my allergies are bad she will also put points in my sinuses. Every few weeks my acupuncturist will take my pulse and look at my tongue to see how I am responding. I also find my acupuncturist a great resource being that she had fertility issues and just recently had her 3rd child thanks to a combination of western and eastern medicine. Good luck.

Re: Accupuncture
I just started going and I love it. I had my second visit yesterday and I fell asleep after just 5 minutes of being there. Felt like i slept an entire 8 hours when I got up and also felt like i had a full body massage!
I can't explain it but my breathing is so good too once she puts all the needles in. I never realized how I don't breathe as deep normally.
I go for fertility so depending on where I am at my cycle, the needles are placed a little different each time.
They don't hurt, but I have felt the one in my hand both times I went and she puts one on the top of my head and I felt that. Not pain, but a pinch.
It's really fantastic. I go to LI Holistic in Babylon Village
