Accountants-????
I am on another board with someone who is an accountant who insists that her job deals mostly with "rounding" numbers and estimations. She also does taxes. I always though accountants basically had to have all the numbers exactly correct. Am I incorrect for thinking this?

Often I round to the nearest number. It depends what I am working with. Taxes are always rounded to the nearest dollar.

Thanks! I know at my job we have to be to the penny when doing invoices and P.O.'s so I would think most companies would be like that too.

In the case of POs or invoicing you would definitely work with exact amounts.
I just finished a massive project looking at POs for a client. If I ever have to see a bright green PO again it will be too sooon

Re: Accountants-????
When I was in CS I was rounding to the nearest tenth (depending on what I was working on)
This new position I am going into, it has to be exact. Most it could be off by is one penny.
