? about gate checking things for flight
Going to Florida next week - Jet Blue flight. 1st time travelling with our 9 mo old DD. We bought her a seat - she will be in the travel car seat (the one on wheels with the handle that pops up so you can wheel it around like a stroller)....so do not have to check a car seat....will only be gate checking her stroller. Do I need to put the stroller in one of those protective bags? I saw BBB has that red one that says GATE CHECK on it...should I get that. Where does it go on the plane when you gate check? Does it get thrown around as much as the luggage? Will it get dirty I guess is my question when gate checked.
TIA!

I took an umbrella stroller and it was put in the closet up at first class
Never bothered with a bag either

Re: ? about gate checking things for flight
no bag necessary...they take all strollers right at the door to the plane...and hand it to you right outside the door when you arrive...very little handling!!

The strollers do get placed on the bottom of the plane where the luggage is - very little handling though since it goes straight from the side of the plane, into the plane.
I do have one of those gate check bags though to be on the safe side.

Re: ? about gate checking things for flight
We always take our city mini on the plane and I just cover it with a big garbage bag. I was going to buy that red bag but it seemed like a waste of money.

ok good to hear girls. I skeeve easily so if I have time - I'll pick up one of those bags. Otherwise I will not stress over it - good to know it's very light handling...thanks so much. Running around like a crazy person trying to pack and not overpack for our 1st trip travelling with a baby.... Thanks!

Re: ? about gate checking things for flight
We just traveled to FL last week. We gate checked our stroller. We bought the red bag you saw at BBB (but got it on Amazon for a bit less + free shipping). We just left the stroller on the side right next to the plane door when we boarded and it was waiting for us when we walked out of the plane. Really easy! I will say that the red bag had 2 black marks on it (not huge), like scuff marks, so I'm glad I had it - wouldn't want the stroller dirty. No damage to our stroller either.

Great - thanks so much! I just asked DH to pick one up on his way home from work - will feel better having it.
