? about baby severerly crying
my son rarely cries(knock on wood) but when he is hungry and the bottle is not ready for him he cries uncontrollably to the point of choking on his own saliva. I think i just aged 10 years seeing him just now..Its not even time for him to eat, and he was so hysterically crying that he started choking and his faced turned red and all around his lips turned blue- has anyone ever experienced this? He is fine right now, but he does get like this from time to time and i just feel awful...could it be from lack of oxygen from crying so much?

DS does this sometimes too. It is the scariest thing! He crys so much that he turns bright red and he doesnt breath for a few seconds (but it feels like forever). my neice used to do this too, so im guessing its normal? just really really scary though!

Re: ? about baby severerly crying
Yes, the blue lips is from him not breathing because he's crying so hard. DS does it too, but no blue lips. He cries so hard that he goes mute with his mouth wide open before he unleashes one heluva scream.....
i have to shush and swing him to calm him down.....

Re: ? about baby severerly crying
DD does this too all the time when her bottle is not ready in time. It freaks me out...she turns beat red and loses her breath to the point that her mouth is open but no sound is coming out. I have to rock her in order for her to calm down.

Re: ? about baby severerly crying
yup DS does this when hes really hungry, in fact tonight i was changing him into PJs and he started the hunger scream/cry. i guess i wasn't fast enough getting his jammies on b/c he cried so much in that short period of time that he made himself exhausted and started falling asleep on the changing table. So i started to cry b/c it broke my heart to know he had exhausted himself

Re: ? about baby severerly crying
if my boob isn't out quick enough or a bottle isnt warmed up fast enough, same thing happens here..i feel bad for him, but once he gets his food he is fine so i don't worry too much about it - nothing you can do to change it

My little man is the same way and always has been. I get so scared when i hear the crying stop for that few seconds...it makes me so nervous i can't think

Re: ? about baby severerly crying
It sounds like he got himself SO worked up over being hungry...I think they all do it at one time or another. I think the blueness around the lips is also the contrast from his face being so red too but also from him not being able to catch his breath. Hope you're both better.
