About baby asprin
I discussed with my doctor about taking baby asprin this morning after reading on her and other places that it can be beneficial in preventing miscarriage.
She told me that a few years ago there was a study that came out of Argentina praising baby asprin like it was a miracle drug for pregnancy and it was a good paper, so they decided to start giving it to their patients. They found it didn't help anyone get pregnant, and that it could cause or aggravate bleeding in pregnancy and made them unsure of when to stop it. So with that information, she said they do not want anyone taking unless they know for sure there is a clotting issue. Since I do not want a miscarriage to happen again if I do have a clotting issue, I want to be aware. So tomorrow I will have a lot of blood drawn to test for this. I am concerned because 1) I had a miscarriage and 2) I have a lot of clots when AF is in town. Has anyone ever had these blood tests done?

yep-they are thrombophilia tests and i have lots of em. I am on Lovenox and baby asprin. From what I understand BA does something different than Lovenox. BA helps your blood not to unecessarily clot while Lovenox makes your blood more slippery. Being on both my blood still clots wonderfully and I have had no issues with bleeding

Re: About baby asprin
Hi, can I ask you what these tests consist of? I had a miscarriage in January and do have lots of clotting during AF. I just got home from my IUI and am wondering if this is something I should be looking into.
Any info you could share would be great! Thanks!
Also, how are you doing? I know you were taking clomid, any good results for you?
Good Luck, hope you get all the answers you are looking for!

Re: About baby asprin
I had two m/c and after the second my obgyn ran all the blood tests because I was worried, everything came back normal, and she said that I don't need to take the baby asprin, because I asked her about, now I am going to an RE and he hasn't mentioned it to me either....
I don't remember what they all were but here are some: ACA MTHFR Prothrombin 2 Leiden Factor 5 Protein C Protein S Antithrombin 3 LAC TSH FANA

Re: About baby asprin
I take one baby aspirin every day along with my prenatal vitamin and vitamin B6. I hope I am not adding to my problems by doing so.

I do have blood clotting issues so I take a baby asprin everyday for life. During IUI I take Lovenox and prednisone for natural killer cells in my uterus. I WISH I did these tests B4 I blew all my money on IVF. Now I can only do IUI's financially. DO ALL THE TESTS!!!! Trust me. its worth it.
