First a little background...we are in the processing of selling and buying. We are buying new construction and are going with an FHA loan.

On March 22nd, our lender sent an email to our attorney and our REA with a list of documents they needed. On this list was some documents/forms that the builders attorney needed to complete, so this meant our attorney needed to forward him this list.

On March 30th we close on our current house and now need to stay and do a use and occupancy because our realtor didn't push enough to have the closing pushed back another. Even after we bent over backwards for the buyers.

Either Friday 3/30 or Monday 4/2 we find out that the list that was sent on March 22nd was never completed. On 4/3 I call my attorney's office fuming mad at the paralegal who is handling the case and ask why aren't the forms back. She tells me it is the other attorney. I ask why nobody is pushing them to get them back. Later that afternoon I send an email to the attorney and tell him that he needs to get these forms back and he needs to figure out a way to get them. He tells me it is out of his hands. He is out of the office Tuesday, Wednesday and friday of this week, mind you (not in court, off). Yesterday, I found out that nothing is still resolved, our rate lock expires this coming Tuesday and if we do not get the papers back we can't close.
Now I am pissed. We are paying our buyers a daily rate and we may not close on Tuesday which means our rate lock expires. Not to mention on 4/13 our daily rate to pay the buyers, doubles!

I am so upset because I feel like our attorney really dropped the ball on this and they do not want to take responsibility.

Any suggestions on what to do? I already spoke to the builder directly to ask what was going on. He said that his attorney didn't receive the list until friday 3/30 at 4 in the afternoon and he was in court on Monday.
