A thought regarding the plane crash
I love that this miracle has boosted the morale of everyone I've talked to lately. Everyone is beaming talking about it.
I love that so many New Yorkers, from NYPD and FDNY to civilians worked so hard to rescue people.
I love that the chances of any animals in cargo were very very slim.
But most important, I love that everyone is okay. That's friggin amazing.

Agreed 100%. It's all my freshman could talk about this morning. I was very happy that they could all be amazed by something in their lives. It really gave a lot of people hope.

I agree, it's absolutely amazing how it turned out. Any one of the little things that could have been differnt would have spelled tragedy. I get chills watching the interviews.

I was actually was in the gym when the news broke, and you know how they show the TV with no sound on the TV's there? I saw the picture and thought for sure people were killed. In the locker room, the TV had sound, and when they said everyone survived, I cried right there in the locker room....

I think the NY'ers handled themselves much better than the Confederates this time. Later that night when the passengers finally arrived in Charlotte...they were greeted by a throng of reporters. All of them were waiting at the baggage claim which I am sure just added to salt to a very open wound.
USAir did make arrangements for every single passenger on that flight to get a limo/SUV to their final destination in Charlotte. They were also offered hotels if they were supposed to have Cincinnati as their destination. It does not sound like much BUT a large percentage of the passengers that just landed in the Hudson hours before...got back on a plane and still arrived in Charlotte as they originally planed. That says volumes.

Wanted to add - not only was I overly impressed with how everyone on the place - esp the captain handled it - but NYC/NJ personnel were amazing!
