A scam that almost happened to my fam
I am utterly DISGUSTED! My grandfather's brother passed away and his wife received a letter from the "US Corps" saying they were sorry they could not be there to play taps and to present her with a flag, but with the current war they are short of soldiers but will be HAPPY to come to her house and present it to her.
5 guys show up and beat the woman down and rob her house.

been asked before and I will ask again...WHAT is wrong with people!

I know. My dad said this is why people don't put deaths in the obits anymore...people would come rob their house when they knew they were at teh funeral.

WHAT?! I just don't understand it. I don't. I don't understand how a HUMAN BEING can treat another person, especially a person who is greiving, in that way. How can you have such little compassion and empathy? There's something seriously going wrong with this country

Actually when my father passed away 9.5 years ago the funeral director told us not to put an obit in the newspaper for exactly this reason. Sad and disgusting.......

I'm not sure I'm following this correctly...when someone puts in an obit, do they also include a home address?
Regardless, it's still pretty messed up.
