A little vent---
Tell me why would someone buy something off a registry for something you don't have!
At my shower, I rec'd 2 Boppy covers, but no Boppy-which I bought after the shower.
Now, I see that someone (I suspect my cousin- who had her 2nd child 4/19 and is sending me a gift b/c she wasn't @ my shower-she told me this) bought the changing table pads for the pack n play.
We don't HAVE the pack n play! DH and I have talked about it and may not be getting it, at least not yet!
So basically, this gift will be useless to me now!
Okay, vent over.

too funny!! We did get some changing pad covers and no changing pad.....i think some people buy what the see first.

I have not rec'd the gift yet, was buying something off my registry and saw that was purchased, along with 2 other items.

I've done that before, now I need to be careful. Sometimes people like to buy a bunch of little things, instead of a big thing. (Although a boppy is not big.) For instance, I'll buy sheets, but that doesn't mean I can afford buying the mattress too.

I have NO clue why people don't just get what's on your registry. It's one of my pet peeves. I mean, I understand getting clothing, little toys etc that aren't on it... but for the major stuff... why do we bother registering if people don't take advantage of it?? We're the one's who make it easy for everyone else!! It's a no brainer... print out the list and buy something from it!

I would probably do something like that - not thinking. I never thought about it. I think people probably have a certain amount they want to spend and see what's available in the store and pick that up.

I think what happens here is that they are buying things that you have registered for and not checking if someone else has bought the other item. Sometimes these things are not together on the registry sheet you get at the store. Additionally say you wanted to spend $50 on a gift and bought another item for say $40 you then might only scan the registry for a gift that fits into your price range and then just grab it.

Did you register for it? Some people don't look at the rest of the registry just stuff in the price range and they wouldn't notice that it was purchased yet or assume that someone will eventually buy the boppy that would go with the covers.
