A little anxious!
We had our first ob appt. last night. The doctor said our baby is measuring a lot smaller than she expected. She said she thinks she saw a heart beat but can't be sure. The soon tech had already left for the day so now I have to go back Monday to have my pregnancy dated. She didn't seem worried and DH said just seeing our peanut was enough for him. I'm freaking out! I want to be excited but what if something is wrong? Sorry, just needed to get that out...

First, stay calm. How far do you think you are? If under 7 weeks you might not see a heartbeat just yet. There are also so many factors that can make your dates off. How long were the average length of your cycles? Do you know when you ovulated? Do you know the average length of you LP ? (Days between ovulation and CD1 of your next cycle) You could have had a late implanter which can throw your days off by a few. If you ovulate later then Cd14 or have a cycle longer then 28-30 days that can throw you off a few days too. And one last thing to remember, they are measuring something that is approximately the same size as a poppy seed!!! So even the best Dr or tech might be off a day or two.

Thanks, I'm trying to remain positive. The doctor saw a heartbeat, she just didn't know for sure. I tracked my cycles and plugged in the later  day and it moves my expected due date back 3 days. Could that really make a difference?

A little anxious!
3 days make a difference in the beginning for sure!! Have a great weekend and don't worry too much. I know its easier said then done, but if there was a beginning flutter for the dr already there should be a good hb for the tech on monday!!

if you are 3 days later than you think that will make a HUGE difference on dating the pregnancy. I didn't even see my LO heartbeat until 7w4d and iw as going nuts b/c they couldn't see it!
sometimes, they can see the heartbeat before they can hear it, so even if she didn't hear it, she should have seen it, you can see it flickering on the screen. Try not to worry about it and enjoy your weekend, easier said than done, i know!

She said she saw it on the monitor but wasn't sure if it was the heartbeat because the screen isn't very good. She wants the sono tech to confirm and to date the pregnancy. I'm probably closer to 6.5 weeks instead of 7 like I thought. I'm calming down!!! Just need to wait till Monday!

The baby's heartbeat usually starts somewhere around 6.5 weeks so it could've just been too early. That's my most OBs won't see you before 8 weeks.

THIS-I had my first offical Prenatal visit at 8 weeks. They woudn't see me any sooner b/c they said it was too early to see anything.
I did have to see the OB due to spotting at 6w2d; and suprisingly they were able to see a heartbeat. But my OB forewarned me that it may have been too early to see anything. Try not to stress yourself out too much. Just keep looking at the sonogram and good luck on Monday!

Thanks, they think I ovulated later than originally thought. So I am not as far along as they thought. My OB doesn't see you before 7 weeks, but I was since my cycles are all screwed up... Oh well, I'm sure I will be fine!
