A crib/bassinet question from a mommy to be?

I plan on registering in the next few Weeks, and I have a question. Dh and I live in a one bedroom apartment. We plan on buying a crib and keeping it our room. Now my question is, will a baby sleep right away in their crib, or should I buy a bassinet as well. I don't want the baby in our bed. I'm way to nervous of a person and I would be too worried. Any suggestions??

From my experience they'll sleep anywhere flat and cool. Haha.. figure in their small world their hospital bassett thingy is HUGE !!! So a crib is fine.

Arianna could have cared less where she slept as long as she was swaddled, cool, fed and clean. Chat Icon

If I had to do it over, I wouldn't bother with the bassinet, especially if you are going to have the crib in your room.

DS was in the crib from day one.

if you're in a 1 bedroom apartment, i would just go with a crib. there's no reason for a bassinet in that case.

Okay thanks!! I will stick with the crib. I was pretty sure it was fine, but I wanted to make sure. My sister told me that not one of her three kids would sleep in the bassinet, so I was reluctant on getting one.
