This is Us - Am I the only one.....................
.................who finds this season to be an absolute snooze fest???  The Jack storylines???............please, just stop. He's dead, who cares at this point. Let's just stay in real time and watch the characters in current day. The Vietnam story is so boring, the road trip was so boring and truly, I just don't care all that much about his character anymore.
Aside from that, how RIDICULOUS that Randall quits his job, buys a building, is running for political office, has a mansion for a home AND to top it off, has an unemployed wife now but yet, they never seem to worry about money. At all. It is so unrealistic. Plus his character annoys the hell out of me in general.
Kevin's storyline, who cares?? So boring.
Toby and Kate, I'd like to see more but all we see now is Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack.
I liked the first season, started to lose interest in the 2nd but now I'm inching closer to being done. I so badly wanted it to be the next great family drama like "Parenthood" was but it does't even come remotely close to that greatness.

I am the opposite. I enjoy seeing the passed rather than the current. The Vietnam story is dragging, but I like seeing how Jack and Rebecca's relationship started.

None of them have to worry about money. You never hear them talk about work. I get it, Randall made his money in his career, he does not have to work. Kevin was on the Manny and made his money. But what about Kate and Toby. And even in flashbacks, Jack and Rebecca can just decide on a whim to take a road trip to CA. Don't they have jobs that they need to answer to?

For me, the stories all just feel SOOOOOOOOO dragged out. I need some resolutions so we can keep moving.

This is Us - Am I the only one.....................
I am so behind with this show. I loved the first season, second season was good but I wasn't overly obsessed with having to watch it weekly and this season I have about 4 waiting to be watched on my dvr. I love the characters but I'm not sure how long this show can go on for.

YES! I was just saying this. I like Jack and understand why they are explaining who he was when he was younger, but this whole Vietnam story and his brother... so not into it. And his brother is dead, right? So why are they focusing so much on two dead guys? We know how it ends...
I like when they get in to the dynamics of Randall and his background. I think they do it really well. But Kevin and Beth's cousin- so painful and boring! I want them to go back to the story lines that make you question- who are they seeing when Randall is older? How does Toby deal with his depression? Kate/Toby/baby? How did Rebecca and Miguel come to be?

same as above - I loved the first season, 2nd was dragging a bit, and I haven't watched this season. I keep meaning to but find other shows I'd rather watch.

ITA! I always wonder about Kate and Toby. I see he has a job and she does some singing, but doesn't seem like much. Especially since they are spending a lot to get her pregnant. She did a song-gram thing. I can't imagine she makes much singing. I thought she started out as an assistant.
Kevin does very well. Between the Manny and now this new movie I'm sure he's raking in a ton. Surprised he's not starting a new movie.
Randall has money, but no longer working. I can't imagine two people with no job being able to still afford the bills. I don't care how much you saved.
Oh, and agree about Rebecca and Jack. He couldn't afford an umbrella on their first date and now they are driving cross country staying in hotels.
Anyway, I like this season. I want to get more from Vietnam already. I feel like a lot of these are fillers for something big they will show right before season break for next year.

I think it's ok this season. It was never my favorite show, but it's on my DVR and I put it on while I do other things. I like the parallel of the two trips.

I’m so bored this season. I find myself looking at my phone the whole time the episode is on bc it’s not keeping my interest.
Last season was pretty good on the whole.
The first season was total magic, I loved it. There were a few episodes from that season (esp the pilot, the thanksgiving episode, and the episode when William died) that I could just watch over and over.

This annoys me so much!!! I'm always thinking how do they all act like they have such money, the house is always neat, they take care of things, go out to eat but it's like they don't have jobs!
Here's the thing...
Parenthood was relatable. Real people in real situations.
Nothing about This Is Us is relatable to me. maybe to some, they do address adoption, infertility, sibling relationships, parent deaths... but even with these topics that I do have a little knowledge of... my version doesn't relate to theirs...
parenthood was more widely relatable i thought.
this season is ....
kevin is so unlikeable with beths cousin. dont like that girl either or the way that storyline is going...

Parenthood was relatable. Real people in real situations.

Exactly! I felt like Parenthood really resonated. I loved the dynamic between the siblings and with the parents. Their struggles felt more authentic too.
I think actually find the worst character on This Is Us to be Mandy Moore when she is older. I don't find ANYTHING endearing about her, she's hard to like. She comes across as snooty, disinterested and a little b!itchy. She's a better character when she's playing the younger version of the mom.

im in the minority, but i love seeing the flashbacks of Jack in Vietnam. I thought Milo's acting was really good in this last episode. To see how he went from this tortured guy after the war to being so warm. Just shows how much he needed Rebecca. And I'm sure she paid for that LA trip since she had money from her family. When he apologized to Squirrel's parents...that's the first time i cried this season.
I feel like the Kevin story line will eventually go somewhere, but i agree...i'd like them to get there. Not crazy about Beth's cousin...I don't even remember her name. I feel like Kevin wants to love her so bad, but i dont think she's right for him. Sophie was good for him.

And the whole Kate storyline hits too close to home for me so I’m totally over this show
I’ll still watch but I’m def not paying attention

I actually prefer when they focus on just one or two storylines instead of trying to follow everyone each episode. But I agree that lately I just don't care about the characters or their stories.
Kate annoys the crap out of me. Every time she opens her mouth it's this dramatic over the top speech  and I wish someone would tell her to just shut up already. I find myself rooting against her. And her and Randall find a way to make Every.Single.Thing about them. Even when their families need them, their personal issues are ALWAYS more important. The only sibling I really care about lately is Kevin.
I love Beth, Toby and Miguel.
And I agree about wondering how each of them support their lifestyles.
This isn't much like Parenthood at all. It's not nearly as relatable, but also, the family on Parenthood spent lots of time together and I loved to see how they all interacted and the family dynamic. The This Is Us family spends most time apart dealing with their own individual things. I love the flashbacks but the modern day stuff loses me.

I was obsessed with the first 2 seasons, but this season I stopped watching after the second episode. I have them all on DVR but am not really interested. Funny so many people mentioned Parenthood because I had never seen it and over this past summer we watched all 6 seasons and I think it was the best show - much better than This is Us.

I stopped watching after the Jack's death episode. It was so anticlimactic to me that I got so turned off the show. I take shows very personally lol and it let me down.

I thought it was me. I actually only started watching this show a few months ago on demand. Loved season 1 and 2, but this season, like others have said, it has lost my attention. I't's been kind of dissapointing. They made a big deal about adding in the Vietnam story, but I think it is too much for the show and dragging on. I also find some scenes drag on too much. I will continue to watch it, but season 3 does not live up to the show when it started.

It really was SO anticlimactic! They went on and on about how he died and how it would be in a way that has NEVER been on TV before and then, smoke inhalation. Big deal. After almost two years of hype it was a letdown.
I think when they created the show all they had that was interesting was Jack. But then they killed him off and now it just feels like the show drags and drags and all they want to seem to focus on is Jack. Which, if that is what they wanted, maybe they shouldn't have killed him off. I feel like now that we are into season 3, the appeal of Jack is less and less. I'd rather focus on the other characters.
