8 weeks and started spotting
Yesterday I went for the big prenatal bloodwork at a lab. When I came home I noticed very faint spotting when wiped. DH and I ran to the Dr. They did a sono and saw a healthy heartbeat. My Dr said it couldve just been a hormone drop, but I still have some spotting this morning. He didn't seem alarmed, but I'm in a state of panic... anyone have a similar experience? Also, 2 weeks ago the baby measured 6 weeks 1 day. Yesterday it should have been 8 weeks 1 day, but measured 7 weeks 5 days - dr. also wasn't alarmed by this and said it wasn't a big deal.....

Re: 8 weeks and started spotting
I had spotting twice with my son, right around that time. Bleeding in early pregnancy is very common. Try not to panic. If they saw a healthy heartbeat yesterday then you are probably fine. This pregnancy I have actually had very heavy bleeding due to a polyp on my cervix and everything is still fine! Try not to worry, as hard as it is not too. If you start cramping and bleeding heavily I would call your doc.

Re: 8 weeks and started spotting
I could have wrote this post myself! I am also 8 weeks and noticed some brown spotting when I woke up yesterday morning. I too, called the Dr. and went in and was told that everything was normal. We saw the heartbeat and there was no bleeding anywhere near the actual pregnancy so I was told.
Believe me, I know how you feel. It is the most scary thing in this entire world! Even though everywhere you google will tell you that spotting is normal in early pregnancy as long as its not red with clots and as long as you are not in severe pain.
For now, I guess we pray and wait. I am trying to stay strong and I hope that you are doing the same. My thoughts are with you.
Please update me and let me know how everything goes!

Re: 8 weeks and started spotting
i had spotting from 5-8wks and then i had 2 episodes of bright red very heavy bleeding in my first tri...i'm 23wks and baby is doing great! some women just bleed or spot during early pregnancy and even though it's scary and the doc can't really give a reason why it can be pretty normal...best thing you can do is to relax and try not to stress. FM me if you need someone to talk to! I've been through it all!

Re: 8 weeks and started spotting
I had spotting around 9 weeks- it was a significant amount when I wiped, so I went straight to the ER (having experienced a m/c a few months prior). Everything was okay and I too got to hear the baby's heartbeat. They didn't really have an explanation for me either. My mom, who's a nurse, said that my body could be just getting used to be being pregnant because I bled around the time I would have had my period.
I know it's so hard not to worry every second or check the TP every time after you use the bathroom (I do).

Re: 8 weeks and started spotting
It's pretty common to bleed during the first trimester. Some people bleed after sex or straining to go to the bathroom. Others bleed for unknown reasons. I had bright red bleeding at 11 weeks. The doctor had no idea why I bled, but I didn't have any other bleeding the rest of my pregnancy. It's really scary, but try not to panic.
As far as the measurements, the initial sono is the most accurate for your EDD. That's why most doctors won't change your EDD if you're measuring a few days off in later sonos. The machines also have a margin of error of +/- 3 days. I wouldn't be concerned at all.
