You can start using one when they sit on thier own really good. I started about 6 months. It was much better because it fits in the car better. They also sell bags that hook onto them for things you might need. I always just put my diaper bag over the handles, worked for me. HTH

I just bought an umbrella stroller and it's all we use now. SHe is 10 months but I'd have done it sooner if I knew how convinient it would be!
