6 month quote? Where do you live and what are you driving??? I pay under $1200 a year for my lease.

A first time driver will always be more. I pay $1500 for 2 cars with full coverage with Geico.

I don't live in li, I'm pretty close to westchester. I live in the bronx and it would be for a toyota corolla 1990 used.

that is a lot of $$.. I pay about $1900 a year for a leased truck... through State Farm which is one of the more $$ insurance companies...

HOly Cow.....it's because you are a first time driver, probably where you live, and what kind of car you drive are all factors.
Down here, for 2 cars we pay $1400 for the year!

It's because you are in NYC more than anything, I would guess. When DH and I moved from Queens to Putnam, our insurance was literally cut in half. I also parked on the street, now I park in a driveway.

Did you get any other quotes? When I first started driving Geico was actually more expensive than State Farm and Allstate... and then after about 5 years of driving Geico went down a lot.

Also, are you younger than 25? My insurance was almost halved when I turned 25! Does it include collision? Sometimes, there are extras that you don't need, especially with an older car. And, what is your deductable? If you have a low deductable, your rate will be high. If you have a high deductable, such as $500 or even $1000, your rate will be less.
