Its a way to keep all the cool things and ideas that you find on the web in one place. i know for me, I am always emailing myself links to websites or blogs that I like then I never go back and look at them.This way, I go to my page and i see all my ideas in catagories....very cool!

exactly! Plus, you can just peruse other peoples "boards" for cool things and repin them to yours. They are by category - home, DIY, Kids, Travel, Food, etc.. FM me and Ill send you an invite. Its more or less a virtual cork board. You can pin images you like and with that image is saved the link of where is came from. So if you see a recipe you are dying to make, you pin the picture associated with the recipe on the webpage, the pic then gets pinned and is saved with a link back to the web page with the recipe.
You can also search pinterest for whatever you are looking for. Like last night, I was looking for a DIY lampshade...searched DIY lampshade and it gave me all related items that have already been pinned.
